Base raw materials may gradually change seasonally.

Feeding Guide

THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE FEED.
It has been designed to supplement hay and/or pasture feeding. Gradually introduce CALF XLR8 HI ENERGY PELLETS over a 3 week period, start feeding at 0.5% liveweight/head/day for the first 5 days. This can be gradually increased over the next 2 weeks. After induction, feed approximately 0.5%-1.5% liveweight/head/day depending on size, age of the calf and quality of roughage available. Cool, clean, fresh water must be available at all times.

PASTURE SUPPLEMENTATION:

RIVERINA CALF XLR8 HI ENERGY PELLETS can be fed at restricted amounts to cattle of all ages while grazing pastures. Use this product to supplement the intake of nutrients from the pasture, including when grazing low protein/low quality pastures.
After a suitable induction program, intakes can remain between 0.5 to 1.5% of liveweight/head/day. The intake can be adjusted based on the pasture quality/quantity and the desired weight gain.

FEEDLOTTING (and for higher weight gain):

RIVERINA CALF XLR8 HI ENERGY PELLETS can be fed to cattle confined in a feedlot pen or to cattle grazing on pastures. XLR8 can be fed out in troughs or self-feeders. After induction, intakes can be increased up to the desired amount (maximum of 1.5% of liveweight/head/day).
This product is suitable for high weight gain in cattle up to 300kg liveweight.
For cattle over 300kg liveweight, RIVERINA FEEDLOT PELLETS can be used.
Must be fed in conjunction with roughage/hay and with an appropriate induction program.

EARLY WEANING:

RIVERINA CALF XLR8 HI ENERGY PELLETS are ideal for early-weaning calves over 100kg liveweight.
For lighter calves, feed RIVERINA CALF REARER CRUMBLES.

FEEDING PROGRAM FOR EARLY WEANING:

Week 1: Offer 0.5kg/head/day in troughs, in addition to good quality hay. Gradually increase to 1kg/head/day when the calves are leaving the troughs empty. Allow adequate trough space for all of the calves to eat at once.
Week 2: Offer 1kg/head/day in addition to good quality hay. Start introducing any other dry licks/molasses supplements that will be used after weaning. Good quality hay must be available at all times, for example Oaten Hay or Irrigated Rhodes Grass Hay.
Water and feed troughs should be cleaned regularly.
Calves can be maintained on RIVERINA CALF XLR8 HI ENERGY PELLETS for extended periods if required.

Medication

This feed contains Monensin Sodium at the rate of 30mg/kg as an aid in the prevention of coccidiosis and to improve weight gain and feed efficiency in growing cattle.
