Feeding Guide
- Sudden changes in diet should be avoided when commencing to feed pellets. Always follow an introductory period over a week or so when plenty of fresh hay, chaff etc is offered along with the pellets. All feeding rates for pellets should be adjusted to maintain proper bodyweight. Pellets should make up about 50% by weight of your Rabbit’s or Guinea Pig’s total diet, and all feeds should be replenished regularly to keep them fresh.
- Young Weaned Rabbits: should be introduced gradually to pellets and then fed free-choice to appetite, along with fresh hay, chaff etc.
- Adult Doe and Buck Rabbits: can be fed 100 to 150 grams per day in conjunction with fresh hay, chaff etc to appetite.
- Adult Guinea Pigs: may be fed 20-40 grams per day in conjunction with fresh hay, chaff etc.
- Ensure that clean fresh water is available at all times.
