Directions for use
Suitable for feeding to weaned lambs from a minimum of 18kg liveweight (approximately 3 months of age), through to market or 50kg liveweight. THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE FEED. Feed in conjunction with roughage, such as pasture, cereal hay or straw. Pellets can be fed out in troughs or self feeders. Ensure that there is adequate space at the feeder or the trough for the number of lambs. To avoid problems with acidosis (grain poisoning), controlled and gradual introduction of the pellets is important. Feed small amounts at first, about 0.5% of their bodyweight. Gradually increase intake of the pellets over 2-3 weeks until the desired intake or to approximately 3.5% of bodyweight. When using self feeders, the slides on the feeder should be adjusted to control intake. Give extra attention during the introduction period, to control the intake of drought affected or hungry lambs. After the introduction period, intake of the pellet may depend on the quality and quantity of available pasture. Good quality cereal hay, straw or pasture must be available at all times. Ensure that the lambs have access to clean, cool, fresh water at all times.
