Feeding Guide

When introducing any new ration to horses, always introduce gradually over a 1-2 week period. Feed an appropriate level of pellets for your horse’s bodyweight (as a guide – ranging from 0.5-1.5kg/day at 300kg, 1.0-2.0kg/day at 400kg, 1.5-2.5kg/day at 500kg, 2.0-3.0kg/day at 600kg) along with a minimum of 1% of your horse’s bodyweight as forage (grassy hay or pasture) per day.
Vary the amount of pellets fed with the condition of the horse, level of activity and with the seasonal availability and quality of hay and pasture. As a general rule, at least 50% of the weight of the daily diet for horses should be forage.
Ensure that clean fresh water is available at all times.
