One year later, Brexit has been "a fire across the river"

One year ago, just after the Brexit vote, I wrote that I saw it as “a fire across the river,” a shame for the UK, but an issue that would not have more than a minor effect on the US economy.  This was in response to a speech by Fed President Lael Brainard in which he described what he believed would be the negative consequences.
