The dollar was lower again on Thursday in N.Y., taking EUR-USD to 14-month highs of 1.1444 in the process. USD-JPY came under attack as the risk backdrop deteriorated, with global equities taking it on the chin, as global central banks this week seemed to all turn hawkish at once. USD-CAD fell under 1.3000 for the first time in over four-months, while cable managed marginally new trend highs of 1.3016. On the data front, Q1 GDP was upgraded some, while jobless claims were slightly higher than forecasts. Neither had much impact on the FX market.[EUR, USD]
