It looked like the dollar was out for the count early in the Tuesday N.Y. session, though a bounce in home prices, and a much better than expected consumer confidence outcome rallied stocks, helping the greenback off the floor. EUR-USD fell from near 1.2040 to lows of 1.1982, while USD-JPY topped at 109.53, after printing four-month lows of 108.27 ahead of the open. USD-CAD made its way to 1.2550 highs from 1.2471 lows, as cooler Canadian price data and weaker oil prices supported. Cable topped at better than two-week highs of 1.2978 in London, though later fell back under 1.2920.
