The dollar was mixed in N.Y. trade on Monday, posting gains versus the euro, pound and CAD, while losing ground to the yen, despite the risk-on backdrop. EUR-USD topped at 1.0873 in morning dealings, before putting in a floor at 1.0835. USD-JPY meanwhile, held the 110 handle through most of the session, before dipping to 109.70 lows into the close. USD-CAD topped 1.3520 on weak oil prices, while cable largely followed the euro lower. The DXY bottomed at 98.91, levels last seen on March 27. A move below that day’s 98.86 base will bring the index to five-plus month lows.
