Tax system in desperate need of reform: Farm groups

THE National Farmers Federation (NFF) says Australia’s tax system is in desperate need of reform and is calling for sensible, forward-thinking changes to allow farm businesses to operate to their potential. The call comes on the back of a new report looking at the impact taxation policy has on Australian agriculture. The report titled ‘Tax in Agriculture’ is designed to prompt a discussion between the agricultural sector, policy developers and politicians on tax policy and appropriate reform.
