Feeding Guide
DO NOT FEED DIRECTLY IN CONCENTRATED FORM
- Include at the rate of 4-5% (40 to 50 kg/tonne) of the total feedlot ration.
- Inclusion rates are based on the total diet having 70-90% Dry Matter for cattle fed up to 120 days.
- If young calves/cattle (under 300kg’s) are being fed, extra protein and calcium sources may be required.
- It is recommended that a rumen buffer be used in the ration during the starter phase as this will aid in the prevention of acidosis. Sodium bentonite at 2% or sodium bicarbonate at 0.5-1.0% of the ration is adequate.
- Cattle must always have access to clean, cool, fresh water.
- To ensure uniform mixing, RIVERINA CONDAMINE FEEDLOT SUPPLEMENT – LIME should be the last ingredient added to the mixing wagon.
- When feeding cattle, high grain diets should be gradually introduced to the cattle to allow the rumen to adapt and to avoid acidosis/grain poisoning. Small amounts should be fed at first, slowly increasing over a 3 week period.
