First Japanese-produced beef arrives in Australia, retailing at $500/kg

TWO small consignments of highly-marbled Japanese Wagyu beef arrived in Australia in late July and have already been sold to the public, marking the end of a 17-year ban on beef imports from Japan to Australia following the country’s detection of BSE in 2001.
